The countdown is on for when I leave for Barcelona. I board the plane on November 16th at 12:30 pm. I will arrive in Barcelona on Sunday, November 17th. The time is approaching quickly, and I the excitement is growing each day. I cannot wait to experience this journey that is to come.

Preparing for Departure

In order to prepare for my trip to Spain, I did research about Spain specifically Barcelona. I looked for information about the city, the country, and the schools. In addition, I researched the weather so I knew the type of clothes that I needed to pack. When I talked to people about traveling to Barcelona, I had several people tell me places to visit while there. They mentioned their favorite places to shop, tour, or eat. Not only did I research the city, I also researched the school, St. Paul's. I looked at their website and reviews of the school. This helped prepare me for what the school looked like and somewhat helped me know what to expect upon arrival. I tried to practice a few simple Spanish words that would help me communicate with people in passing or if I needed help. For example, I knew how to say good morning, good afternoon, good evening, hello, and goodbye. Also, I was able to ask simple questions such as if they speak English or how are they doing. All of these helped me prepare for my trip abroad!
