Most of the acting for the characters in the movie was good or at least decent. I only thought that Gobber seemed constantly confused and tired. Hiccup was either good or just mid in my opinion. At some points it felt like he was just reciting everything, but other times he seemed super into it? They could have done a bit better with that but it did the trick anyway. Stoic and Astrid were spot on throughout the entire movie. Snotlout seemed like kind of a kiss bottom instead of his original snotty self and the other side characters were just okay as also. It's great that Hiccup's mother is mentioned several times in the story, she wasn't before but it makes sense to bring up that she was taken by dragons. The writers likely just had not thought of that in the original but since this is a remake it's definitely the right choice to include things like that. It's also cool that the Vikings of Berk pride themselves a lot more on fighting dragons and winning the war against the dragons. The entire environment was a lot more vikingy than the original too. It was also cool to see more realistic versions of some of the dragons from the Dreamworks Dragons shows even though they did not have my favorite dragon, the triple stryke. It would have been cool for them to be a background dragon or at least mentioned sice skrill gets so much attention.
