AUP: Stands for Acceptable Use Policy
It is an agreement between the school, the classroom, and the students that is designed to keep students safe inside and outside the classroom. It also states practices and rules that they must agree to partake in classroom resources.
Should you create an AUP for home?
AUP help form structure and rules in a certain setting. I think creating one for home is great idea to express the importance of following rules and the consequences that follow breaking the rules. On the Parent AUP page (linked below) I provide more insight to creating your own AUP.
Digital Citizenship is understanding the proper and safe way to use technology.
As technology evolves and has become more evident in our everyday lives, it also has become more popular in the use of schools. Therefore, it is very important for our students to be safe online inside and outside the classroom.
As a parent understanding the nine key elements of Digital Citizenship is important, so you can communicate them with your child at home.
You as a parent/guardian are not required to check the classroom website. It all depends on how "in the know" you would like to be.
However, if you would to stay "in the know" about what is going on in our classroom, I would check the website weekly.
Please email me with any questions, that are not listed on the FAQ page, you may have. My contact information is listed on the Home page.
The School tab has any information about our school that you may need to know. If you cannot find what you are looking for, feel free to contact me and I would be more than willing to help!
