We had the best day ever!! Not to brag, but we are definitely kinder cuties!! We are hungry to learn and eager to grow. Today we had our first day of Kindergarten staggered entry. We were assessed on what we know. We made a kindergarten book, a kindergarten crown, and worked on our numbers! Our favorite was number math and numbers with chalk! We got a little hungry after lunch so we used Goldfish to touch and count. How sweet!
Things look a little bit different this year! That's okay! We are flexible and nimble. We are RESILIENT. We are AES!
If you are home and have not been to school yet, you can work on this activity with your grown-up! Take your favorite color of play-dough and get busy making numbers :) We will do this activity when you get to school but there is nothing wrong with a head start! You may even WOW Miss Ivey!
On virtual days, we will Google Meet! A lot of these Google Meets will look like whole class blended with A/B groups. Miss Ivey may choose to do small groups with children on these days as well. Be mindful of your ClassDojo notifications and messages. We will conquer this year together!
We worked hard today! The link was posted in ClassDojo. I will always put these links in my "class story". Please let me know if you have any difficulties finding these links! When we are meeting in our class group, I will help you mute your child's microphone when necessary. That way there is limited feedback from the speakers of your computers and they can hear me.
We wrote letters and drew pictures that made is HAPPY! Dr. Seuss even made the Google Meet call! Miss Ivey's grandma and grandpa gifted her this story to share with her class! It is really special when we read books from the ones we love!
Select the link above to enjoy the story! When you are reading with your child, practice saying the letters and their sounds! We will continue to work on these throughout the coming weeks. We want to build a strong foundation in Kindergarten for independent reading! We are going to grow to be strong readers in this classroom! I can... read the letters of the alphabet and tell you their sound!
*Miss Ivey has permission to post these pictures seen in our classroom.*
See you soon!
Love, Miss Ivey
