  • On April 27, 2020, this project was selected as winner in the contest: 67 European competition for module 3.1 "My European viewing window."

  • On July 7, 2020, the teachers and students of the IES Miguel de Unamuno BHI in Bilbao received the eTwinning National Qualty Label for Mission Europa Project. Congratulations for the work done !!!

Mission Europa

CONTENTS

The activities of Mission Europa project are clasified into three areas:

1-Female characters: Europa, Penelope, Helena and Cleopatra.

The students, divided in international teams, analised four mythical female characters (Europa, Penelope and Helena) and a historical one Cleopatra). From which they created some products: the infographics, the annotated images, the comics and the timelime of the women`s role through history.

2-Europa in conversation. Contribution to the 67 European competition for module 3.1 "My European viewing window." On April 27, this project was selected as winner in the contest.

Europa in conversation is a Latin text which the students have translated into German, Engilsh, Spanish and Basque. The pages Music from the Mediterranean (cano), Pictures from the Mediterranean Sea (video), Whishes and demands on Europe (opto et postulo) and Teaching and learning Europe (discere et docere) serve to deepen and supplement them.

3-Europa in time of health crisis. This area was not planned in the initial project design. It was added when de health crisis appeared, but it suits the project objectives: better understand Europe`s current problems from the perspective of the Classical Antiquity.

The students were informed about the coronavirus through a Latin text that they later translated. Next, they created an infographic about the corona in Latin. Another activity was to translate the Latin text Corona Europam terret and create an story book. In the last activity Music against Corona, the students translated the song Light a candle and crated a collaborative audio.
