And I am very interested in the intersection of this field with law.
PhD Student
Saarland University, Germany
About me
I am a PhD student at the University of Saarland (UdS). I was formerly a PhD student at Max-Planck-Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen, and advised by Prof. Isabel Valera and part of the UdS ML learning group. As an ELLIS student, I have conducted a research stay at Amsterdam Machine Learning Lab of Max Welling working with Patrick Forré, and interned at IBM Research Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.
In my research, I focus on creating algorithms for fair decision-making under realistic assumptions, especially studying the discriminatory effect of feedback loops. I am particularly interested in the intersection of causality and fairness. Take a look at my research and teaching. In addition, I am part-time enrolled in law studies and look for opportunities to work at the intersection of trustworthy ML and law.
I studied B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany.
