Marisa Valdiserra is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Dance/Movement Therapist, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. She specializes in trauma-informed care for children, teens, and adults. Marisa has over 20 years experience working with children and families. She has a background providing services to children and adults who have experienced various forms of trauma, in addition to working with children diagnosed with autism or autism spectrum disorders. Marisa wholeheartedly believes in the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for trust in any therapy session. She uses movement, play, and talk therapy to nurture growth and understanding. In addition, Marisa is a Registered Yoga Teacher and Chromatic Level 1 Instructor. Marisa initially began the yoga practice for the physical benefits. Once she connected the physical practice to the deeper layers of the mind, she began to understand the transformative process that can occur in body and mind with a consistent yoga practice. Marisa’s core values of Connection, Compassion, Authenticity, and Trust are the foundation of her teaching. She offers challenging yet accessible practices that allow each student to carve their own path to empowerment in mind and body. Marisa also offers Trauma Informed Yoga to support survivors in reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
