Fashion Profiling
As a Gen Z member, the youth of this generation show diversity in terms of interests, perspectives, and even clothing choices. In our generation, 'Geng Geng' and 'Young Stunna' are labels often used to describe a youth street culture shaped by fashion, music, and online trends. The so-called 'Geng Geng' and 'Young Stunna' have different cultural identities—with their unique style, they are often judged and treated poorly in society. They are called names and unfairly stereotyped as threats or troublemakers.
Though some 'Geng Gengs ' really are troublemakers, it's not right to judge all the youth who dress and act the same way. There are plenty of young men and women who dress the same way but are considered a help to society. Reports indicate that these young individuals assist and protect those who are in danger or uncomfortable situations. Because they are feared, they use their perceived "superiority" and social influence as a tool to help others who are vulnerable.
The Bonifacio Global City, also known as "BGC," is an open space where people can visit and enjoy the atmosphere the city offers. With many tourist attractions—including the famous Venice Canal replica- these attractions attract tourists from different places in the Philippines. Despite its popularity and the number of visitors it attracts, many people forget that BGC is essentially a private property. As owners or managers of the private property, the BGC authority has the right to regulate access and behavior within its boundaries. They have the right to limit who can enter the premises. While the BGC authority can regulate access and behavior, this does not mean that visitors should be prevented from expressing themselves responsibly.
Overall, I believe that the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) should be a place that recognizes diversity and does not discriminate against people with different opinions. Also, as long as these 'Geng Gengs ' and 'Young Stunna' do not create a scene or behave in a way that may reflect negatively on the place, they should be allowed to visit and express themselves as they wish.
