An incident no one thought would happen, but alas, it happened, and several passengers suffered. The ferry owned by Aleson Shipping Lines was full of passengers, including children and elderly citizens, who were roaming around the boat. It was supposed to be a vacation for some and a trip home to others; a planned travel for passengers knowing and hoping they could reach the land, the people on board did not expect a tragedy to strike that day.
With large and strong waves that could resemble the height of a house, it flooded the lower deck of the MV Trisha Kerstin 3, crashing and wrecking its starboard.
The ship sank with such damage so large at near midnight on January 26, 2026, from Baluk-Baluk Island after a call for help from one of the ship's onboard facilities. Panic quickly spreads as the ship goes down into the deep waters.
GMA News reported that the tragedy of the sinking has at least 18 people, including an infant, killed in the disaster, while 10 passengers were missing, including the captain, eight crew members, and a sea marshal from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Another 317 passengers were rescued from that misfortune.
It is an event that many feared; no one had anticipated that the tragedy would occur that day. What was left was only trauma and a painful experience.
