Researcher and Assistant Professor - Corvinus University of Budapest
Ph.D. in Communication Science (summa cum laude) from the Corvinus University of Budapest, with a Master's in Social Communication (PUC Minas, Brazil), a BA in Communication - Journalism, and an MBA in Digital Communication and Social Media.
I started doing research while still in my bachelor's program, with a scientific project about self-presentation on dating websites (2008/2009) that resulted in two publications and a few conference presentations, later developing an investigation on political discourse on Twitter during election time (2010) as part of my first thesis work, which became a book chapter.
After exploring the industry for a while, I returned to academia for my master's degree, when I focused on analyzing adolescent self-presentation on visual social media, mainly Instagram (2016/2018). This raised my interest in youth practices online, thus shaping my doctoral proposal and dissertation on youth self-presentation with ephemeral images on social media. Therefore, my main research interests are visual mobile communication, social media, and youth studies, with some further inquiries into social activism and political discourses online.
Finally, I am passionate about photography, traveling, technology, nature, social projects, volunteering, education, and languages. I have vast experience in several areas of communication, such as editorial production, public relations, journalism, social media management, multimedia production, television, radio, and political communication, besides recruitment/HR. I speak Portuguese (native), English, and Spanish, and have an intermediate level in French and Italian. As a globetrotter, I have lived in Brazil, Colombia, the USA, and Hungary.
