Hansen study (2001), intervention consisted of three exercise trials all in increasing duration. It was concluded that the longer duration resulted in reduce levels of confusion, fatigue, and total negative mood (Hansen, Steven, & Coast, 2001). This study advised researchers to recommend a total of 30 minutes of physical activity a day to have a healthy lifestyle. All three studies conclude that high intensity physical activity for longer periods of time (30 minutes) every day can be used as a preventative tool for depressive symptoms.
