MILE serves as an international center of scholarship in language development, literacy development, and disability in the state of Maryland through four Pillar institutes: Education, Research, Policy & Outreach, and Professional Development.

Through our comprehensive research, innovative programs, collaborative partnerships, and advocacy work, MILE will build full and equitable access to literacy in order to empower all Marylanders at every stage of life.
