Starting from September 2023 I'm leading the Dioscuri Centre "Random Walks in Geometry and Topology" at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland (announcement). Project is financed under Dioscuri programme initiated by the Max Planck Society, jointly managed with the National Science Centre in Poland, and mutually funded by Polish the Ministry of Education and Science and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The centre is focused on research in the following areas:
discrete subgroups of higher rank semi-simple Lie groups,
growth of topological and arithmetic invariants of finite volume locally symmetric spaces,
ergodic theory of the actions of mapping class groups ,
applications of random processes in geometric group theory.
You can get a pretty good idea of the type of research by looking at my recent preprints/papers. The centre will work in partnership with prof Roman Sauer from KIT.
