Dioscuri Centre "Random Walks in Geometry and Topology" at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland (announcement) is financed under Dioscuri programme initiated by the Max Planck Society, jointly managed with the National Science Centre in Poland, and mutually funded by Polish the Ministry of Education and Science and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
We work on:
discrete subgroups of higher rank semi-simple Lie groups,
growth of topological and arithmetic invariants of finite volume locally symmetric spaces,
automorphic forms and spectral theory of locally symmetric spaces,
ergodic theory of the actions of mapping class groups ,
applications of random processes in geometric and measured group theory.
We hold a seminar on Thursdays 4PM. If you are interested in visiting let us know!
