The Manhattan: Dark Reality Break & Holy Sanctified EXE Project

This project consists of cheapies that will be from every (well most tiers) of MUGEN cheapies. some will be mainly just brutal AI with some nulls all the way up to a frost tier. they are here to cause chaos and destruction, and the other side of the project (Holy Sanctified EXE) wants to make the game fair. This part of the project consists of dark versions of specific characters that will be transformed (or are already available but will be more enhanced) from every tier except the Dragon tier. YES, these are EVIL NIGGAS they are meant to be UNFAIR. these will range from brutal AI, to visual glitches to straight up messing around with a couple of things on your PC (but not in a way where that renders it unfunctional) Nonetheless, list of characters that have turned dark are below:

The Manhattan: Holy Sanctified EXE Side

Now this side of the project consists of angelic/holy versions of specific characters (listed below) that are ALSO cheap. They are basically what my friend actually joked about to me "Christian-friendly MUGEN chars LMAO." Seriously, though, while they are much nicer, they are still a bit unfair but can be beaten with pure amazing skill or a character with a lil bit stronger coding nothing too crazy. The same thing does somewhat apply to the dark side but, this side is more beatable and more easier than the dark one. They're the good guys who don't mind a 50/50 challenging fight.

Question time: "What made me come up with this project?"

Well, nothing, but just for pure fun AND because I noticed no one bothered to make cheapies in a specific order before ranging from null tier all the way to ultranull-tier and of course frost-tier. so I decided why not do that, and present them one by one and eventually put them in a pack. Of course, some WILL require a VMware, and I probably will need to get that so yeah not much to say BUT...

I AM looking for collaborators for this lovely project :D because, believe it or not, I am not TOO confident in my coding BUT I am learning along the way. so, if anyone wants to join in on this project and of course teach me along the way that would be great. This project is not only for fun but also to showcase some skills for sure. if this project does become successful, who knows might do another but strictly based for HIGH AI tournaments, crazy survival mode and much more since that seems to be a poppin thing nowadays within the Mugen community. Either way...

M.U.G.E.N Dark Manhatten - PROJECT M.O.T.H.E.R

This part of the project is easily the most anticipated the Dark Manhattan Project. But this isn’t just a continuation. It’s something hidden in the shadows of the story, finally brought to light to shake things up.

You know the long-running gag about Akabane how he’s always lurking, pulling strings behind the scenes? Well, this is one of those times. Only now, the scale is far bigger than anyone imagined. The reasons for his actions are open to interpretation, but the results speak for themselves. Let’s dive into the lore that makes this project what it is.

Akabane Dr. Jackal himself decided to take on something beyond even his usual madness. After all, this is the man who casually revived Nakoruru and Pain from death or sealing. But this time, it’s personal. This time, it’s about someone he loved deeply: Eachna.

Eachna, whom Akabane considered a sister, was everything he was not. Kind, gentle, a grounding presence who stayed by his side through every gray decision and dangerous path he walked. No matter his choices, she stood by him. Until the day she couldn’t. Struck down by a fatal illness, she died in his arms. The loss broke him. He stopped eating. He stopped caring. Until one day, he had an idea.

Using his countless connections, Akabane began searching for anyone no matter their age, reputation, or methods, who could help him bring her back. After endless failed attempts, he finally crossed paths with two young prodigies: Fionn, age 14, and his little sister Calliope, just 8 years old.

Despite their youth, these two were scientific geniuses. Their late parents, brilliant scientists themselves, had passed down their knowledge of advanced fields — from microbiology and atmospheric science to computer science and experimental recreation. Tragedy had left the siblings alone after an experiment gone wrong claimed their parents, but they survived on their wits. When Akabane offered them a place to live in his estate, along with the resources they lacked, in exchange for their help reviving Eachna, they couldn’t refuse. His offer was wrapped in politeness and humility, making him impossible to turn down.

This worked in their favor. They moved into the estate, locked in, and began their work. The revival project needed a name, and Fionn came up with Project M.O.T.H.E.R. The name was inspired by an existing corporation and device called M.O.T.H.E.R, known for supplying powerful materials that the siblings had used in earlier experiments. With that foundation, and with all the knowledge and resources Akabane provided, the revival began.

And it worked. But not in the way anyone expected. When the process was complete, Akabane was stunned — and more than a little concerned. Eachna returned, but not as the gentle girl she once was. Her form was that of a literal angelic horror, a biblically accurate angel, blazing with overwhelming divinity.

How? Because during the project, without Akabane’s knowledge, the two siblings had sought out DF Sula. They borrowed her power to combine with the revival materials, and the result transformed Eachna into something beyond human. She became a godlike angelic entity, powerful enough that she had to be contained. Though full of questions, Akabane chose not to overwhelm the young scientists. Instead, he observed the outcome and thought, “We can use this.”

Afterward, with the project’s success behind them, Akabane officially welcomed Fionn and Calliope as his personal scientists. He gave them a permanent place in his mansion, upgraded labs, education, and resources — treating them as family. He even made sure they had support for their mental and physical health, constantly reminding them not to overexert themselves, especially Fionn, who had a habit of pushing too hard.

As for Eachna, tests confirmed what they feared and admired: she wasn’t just powerful she was godlike. She displayed abilities such as:

• Immortality

• Reality Warping

• Elemental Manipulation

• Divine Form

Confused by her new existence but still kind at heart, Eachna struggled to reconcile her gentle nature with her terrifying new form. She had once dreamed of simple things: seeing the Northern Lights, raising children, and experiencing life to its fullest. Now, she had eternity to do all of that and she swore loyalty to the ones who brought her back.

Akabane saw her potential. He made her the core of the mansion, a living guardian and protector of both himself and his organization. Anyone who dared to threaten them would answer to her judgment. Bound by love, gratitude, and newfound divinity, Eachna became not just Akabane’s sister but the immortal angel of the Dark Manhattan Project.

Eachna (エーカナ or アイカナ)

Status: Available

Was formarlly a normal human now a angelic god-like entity who posesses abilities to instant take out the opponent and is overall now your average instant death cheapie, she is a gentle, kind-hearted entity who's main mission now is to forever protect and guard akabane and his family for enternity along side everyone else within the estate. 

because, she still retains her memories she still has her interests such as being into gardening, watching birds, enjoying nature, swimming, reading and much more. in her human form, her appearance was graceful. she had very light blonde hair, very light blue eyes, a soft apperance and, a very slim and slender body (if that makes any sense) now, the appearance is the same but altered to be more angelic / god-like now has white hair, white eyes, pale skin and mutiple wings (and this is her main form) now for the coding aspect of her character,

She works similarly to infinite soulabyss to where she cannot be defeated and also, can defeat anyone thus making her under the same tier as characters as them. now unto her real form is having 6-7 wings, light aura and more similar to a bibically accurate angel. (let that sink in)

No these are not actually going to be real characters in the mugen but anyone is free to make this a reality.  I am just mentioning them in case anyone wants more information on these 2 and actually likes these 2 characters :-D

Fionn フィン 

Is a 14-year-old blasian boy, who has short hair with bangs covering his eyes and has a slim build. despite, his appearance he is highly intelligent with an IQ of 200 (yes that's possible) despite this he is seen as unhuman to and it makes him upset with him always thinking "what's wrong with being not human?" (could be a theory there that maybe him and his sister ain't human) nonethless, he is into things such as not only science but anime, manga and tons of video games. he especially, love manga such as Berserk, Machimaho: I Messed Up And Made The Wrong Person Into A Magical Girl!, Wistoria's Wand And Sword and much more. he's obsessed with metal gear solid and yakuza and is a bit of a nerd. loves all things technology as well. 

Calliope カリオペ

She is an 8-year-old Asian girl with white hair who is not only obsessed with science but also loves and is obsessed with all things Sanrio and Squishmallows! while, she loves things that's cute she also into anime as well mainly mainstream ones such as dragon ball z, naruto, jjk, and much more and doesn't bother to expand because she's too busy watch sanrio things. she also loves magical girls but not as much as the other things mentioned. 

M.U.G.E.N Project: Project 8 Haven

In this project, we are following the story of 5 friend group of enhanced fighters from different worlds who found each other not only through fighting but also through many trials and errors. (if that makes any sense) This story may sound cheesy, but it is indeed dark. let's get into the story further: 

In the world of Lysander, nothing is as simple as it seems. Every soul that spawns within its borders is reshaped by the system itself, their stats, powers, and abilities randomized to fit the cruel laws of survival.

This world thrives on conflict. To live is to fight, and to fight is to earn. Battles are broadcast for the amusement of unseen creators, who watch from the shadows to decide who among the fighters truly deserves to be called the best.

Yet Lysander is not only an arena. Its people can eat, drink, laugh, and live much like in the human world, but there is one absolute rule: the only way to make money, to build status, and to secure freedom is through combat. For those unwilling to fight, the alternative is to train others to rise in their place.

Five strangers are thrown into Lysander against their will. They come from different origins, different histories, and different dreams, but they share one unshakable goal:

to escape.

No matter how long it takes years, decades, or even centuries, they are bound by their promise to survive, grow stronger, and one day leave this manufactured world behind. The system may alter their abilities, the battles may break their bodies, but their will to return to their true homes is unyielding.

Together, they will carve a path through the endless gauntlet of fighters, challengers, and champions not to rule Lysander, but to defy it.

Update as of 12/01/2025: Concept and characters have been changed due to reasons of not being able to edit, or manage with previous characters; therefore, this is the final result of this project. it is now completed.

The Manhattan: Dark Reality Break: Global Operations Expansion Project

In this project, this in the 3rd and final installment of the dark side of the manhatten mugen project. in this project, is continues with the usual lives and operations of akabane and his family / operation BUT, he has finally expanded.

What this means, is that he fully was able to expand his business of carrying out assassinations. meaning, now he has new employees all called: "Executioners" that were all carefully picked to work under him and of course can choose to opt out if they can. 

He doesn't see them as family per say but he does see them as simply employees / allies and they all have badge numbers. they were all chosen from fighting tournaments and under different situation and circumstances. once, they have been chosen akabane enhances their abilities, trains them and, once they are ready they are ready for any mission no matter the cost.

That being said, let's get into the new employees of the organization that work alongside with Akabane's family.

Now, let's get into why this man is returning and ruining everything and causing havoc but first a lil background on this character for you know....any noobies here into mugen.

Mathrus is one of the most infamous characters in the cheap MUGEN community. It was considered one of the strongest cheap characters in the game despite no confirmation of its existence aside from an alleged screenshot. Mathrus was meant to be a MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) "Dragon-Tier", meaning it was supposed to operate on a city-wide scale.

So... does Mathrus exist?

The answer is: "Possibly," but definitely not as a "Dragon-Tier" since this has never been backed up with any proof. A "SuperNull" version was promised to Buraido (a mugen cheapie author), for a "Style Contest", which were held by Ced (another mugen cheapie author) in the past. However this never happened, so there is no proof that the "SuperNull" version exists either. Since there is at least a screenshot, however, this is more plausible than the actual "Dragon-Tier" Mathrus existing. Ced probably used ydccdy's (famous for creating characters like dsrugal) DBOF code to create his supernulls, which likely is the same case with Mathrus.

Now with more history on this character:

Ced Soum was part of an alleged group of Russian MUGEN content creators (Including Urak, who is said to be the original creator of Mathrus) who were totally dedicated to creating "Dragon-Tier" characters and Anti-Malware characters. According to the words of Ced, there were three more "Dragon-Tier" characters created by this group, known as Doxa, Wendel and Louvan. The alleged creator of Mathrus, Urak was in the same Skype group that Ced and some of the other authors at the time were in. From there, Mathrus was mentioned for the first time and Ced likely obtained a copy of the "alleged" original version somewhere around that same time, and decided to test it on a computer at a college he was studying at. The test allegedly caused a blackout that knocked out the power grids in his town, leaving the entire town without electricity for 24 hours. Later on, the infamous image was posted to his now defunct Deviantart account.

Despite Mathrus' alleged story, it can also be understood that this is most likely all fake since, there has been no evidence or news records regarding the power blackout, or a report of the malware created by Urak. Also, speaking of Urak, he most likely never existed and was invented by Ced since there is not even an account or profile of him on the internet. And here we come to the fact: How did "Urak" know how to do DBOF in detail without contacting anyone in the MUGEN community long ago? There is also to keep in mind that if although Urak had contact with Ced, Ced did not know how to make shellcodes at the time.

So that ends it now what?

Well that's it. there is one version of mathrus that currently exists and is publicly available, that is created by HelloMyNameIsAAA but that one is your average cheapie. the tongue-in-cheek interpretation of whatever Mathrus is, and a parody of works done by the cheapie community in general. Despite that, it is extremely broken, complete with beefed up stats, SuperArmor, both health and meter regeneration, and overpowered attacks including OHKOs.

BUT we are in 2025 now this means....

With the much older cheapies I decided to revamp and compete with modern day cheapies mathrus will be doing the same as well...

So you're probably wondering, WHY am I bringing this urban legend back to the mugen scene after so long? well because it's simple. no one else hasn't done it in a while and if they do, they either gave up or for some reason were just too scared to do it.

You see...

Before Skyvesta's literal downfall, there was a man by the name of I think dragonn441 (I might have gotten it wrong) that did actually have his own remade version of Mathrus that even included a .exe file that was a dragon-tier version. he would tease it, and have the server be hyped for it as he even posted separate files of the character but never the full character (this was like last year btw). A few days later, the dude NEVER released the character :/ why? well because people from what I know (my memory could be ass) stated that it literally was a virus and can't be released or some other reason I don't know but the dude completely flaked out and we never got this character.

So I decided to step in one day...

And make my own version, at least be a frost tier... because that's at least similar to the tier actual Mathrus was. so he can compete with modern-day cheapies because honestly, I think from the start someone should at least make a secondary at least somewhat accurate or similar version to the one that is explained to the general public on his existence. that being said..

You will be required to use VmWare to use this character, you cannot use this character on your main operating system because this character is a frost tier? maybe anti-malware? who knows for he WILL be doing a couple of things that will definitely inconvenience you and it will be hard to sorta get rid of that so that should let you know what you're walking into with this version of mathrus. so I guess you can say, this is a "somewhat" lore-accurate mathrus rather than a parody. he is a supernull : ROP in game, but he does have a .bat and .exe file which is going to do exactly what I mentioned above.
