The kick-off meeting of the MIGRATURITY project was successfully held over five days in Hawassa, Ethiopia, bringing together all project partners to formally launch the implementation phase and establish a shared operational framework.
During the meeting, partners agreed on the final structure of project management, formalised through the Handbook on Project Management, which sets out governance mechanisms, roles and responsibilities, communication flows, and reporting procedures. This document provides a unified reference point for all partners and ensures consistency and efficiency in project implementation.
In addition, the foundations were laid for the key activities that will follow in the upcoming period. Particular emphasis was placed on the preparation of training programmes and the development of a comprehensive needs analysis, focusing on aligning student competences with the administrative and institutional capacities of higher education institutions (HEIs). These activities are designed to ensure that project outputs are both relevant and responsive to the real needs of target groups.
A central component of the kick-off meeting was also dedicated to strengthening partners’ capacities in risk management and conflict resolution. As part of this process, the Risk Management Plan was introduced as a pivotal element of the implementation toolkit. This document will provide structured guidelines and strategies to support project teams in identifying potential risks, mitigating challenges, and effectively managing conflicts that may arise throughout the project lifecycle.
Overall, the meeting in Hawassa established a strong foundation for coordinated action, mutual understanding among partners, and a clear roadmap for the successful implementation of the MIGRATURITY project.
