In order to achieve my goals, I recognize the importance of maintaining balance in all areas of my life. Prioritizing my mental and physical well-being, along with nurturing my relationships with my children, family, and partner, will allow me to show up as my best self in this work. I will take intentional breaks to rest, breathe, and spend quality time with my loved ones.
I aim to establish a BIPOC Birth Workers Directory within my community to strengthen connection, visibility, and access to culturally aligned care. I am also committed to reviving and preserving Southern traditional midwifery practices within my hometown, honoring the wisdom and legacy of the midwives who came before me.
Within the next four years, I plan to open my own midwifery practice that reflects the values of community, compassion, and empowerment. To support this vision, I will secure a fiscal sponsor to help create funding opportunities for my education and the renovation of my future practice space.
Ultimately, I aspire to pass down my knowledge and work to my daughter, who is already inspired by birth work and the sacred calling of midwifery.
