Havan

What is a Havan?

To me, a havan is a yogi cleansing, fire ceremony. A chant is repeated 108 times, following each repetition a symbolic gesture is made tossing something into the fire where it is transformed. For example I might toss anxiety and tension into the fire and have it transformed into serenity and joy.

A havan clears my head and I often feel full of energy, peace and joy after this practice.

I asked Karen how she would describe a havan and she replied

"Havan is a transformative fire ceremony that creates a healing effect. It enables change through the use of specific mantras that have been handed down through the ages by the ancient yogic seers. These sound vibrations have a powerful effect through the mind body and spirit and the environment around you. There are many different fire ceremonies that use different mantras. It is a great practice for all. "

Please feel free to ask me, Karen or Ben any questions or let me know if you are interested in coming.
