Day two will reflect on migrating populations’ access to services (Round Table 1) as well as policy discussions on transit migration, its implications for the development of communities, and potential for an integrated policy framework to frame and govern local, regional and international policy responses (Round Table 2). Governments in the region, along with regional organizations and civil society, face the difficult task of balancing security concerns with humanitarian imperatives. Regional cooperation and addressing the
root causes of migration remain crucial in the pursuit of more effective, equitable, and
humane responses to transit migration in the Americas.
