Day one will open with the examination of the sociocultural, economic and political impacts of transit migration on local communities (Round Table 1). Panelists will showcase local and regional contexts for upholding migrant rights and promoting human security across impacted countries, emphasizing the shared responsibility to protect the most vulnerable and create a more secure and just environment for people on the move. The Round Table 2 discussion will focus on the knowledge and data gaps surrounding transit migration, which is essential for informed policymaking, effective response strategies, and the protection of human rights.
