How we help

At Mid Dorset Mencap, we are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with learning disabilities by providing support, resources, and opportunities for personal growth.

We help adults with learning disabilities and other additional needs by promoting their care, treatment, and education. We aim to secure the provision of their needs, ensuring they have access to the services and support they require. Our grant system helps individuals with financial assistance for essential needs, such as travel, education, training, clothing, and personal items.

In addition to supporting individuals, we work to strengthen our local community by promoting other groups that assist people with learning disabilities. Through our regular newsletters, we share information about our activities and keep our members informed of local initiatives that may benefit them.

We also support networking and collaboration with other organisations, affiliating with bodies that align with our mission to offer the best care and opportunities for people with learning disabilities in the region.
