At Mid Dorset Mencap, we proudly champion the rights and needs of individuals with learning disabilities across our local area. Our mission is rooted in care, support, and education—ensuring that every person has the opportunity to reach their full potential and live a fulfilling life.

While we are affiliated with national Mencap, we operate independently and do not receive funding from them. This allows us to focus entirely on the needs of our own community, shaped by the people who live here and the values we share.

Our charity shop is at the heart of this, not only raising vital funds but also serving as a warm and inclusive space where friendships are formed and everyone feels part of the MDM family.

We’re especially proud that people with learning disabilities volunteer with us, contributing their time, skills, and energy. Their involvement is central to everything we do, and their presence helps create a truly inclusive and empowering environment.
