September 2026

• We have been selected for the third beamtime of 2026 at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) and will conduct synchrotron experiments across October and November 2026.

• We have relocated our laboratory to Rooms 402 and 403 in Engineering Building 3. Please feel free to visit us anytime if you have any questions! 

July 2026

• Woobin, Woosol, and Wonjun attended the summer school held at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory.

• We wrapped up the semester with a team dinner, welcoming Anthony who will join us as a graduate student next semester. Welcome, Anthony!

• Wonjun received the Best Oral Award at the Spring Meeting of the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials!

• Our lab successfully carried out a 4-day synchrotron beamtime at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory.

April 2026

• We have been selected for the second beamtime of 2026 at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) and will conduct synchrotron experiments across May, June and July 2026. 

• Our member Wonjun participated in the orientation of the Accelerator Application Support Project at PLS-II. 

• Our research group successfully conducted its first experiment at the 7C beamline (nano-imaging beamline) of PLS-II.

• We attended the Spring Annual Conference of the The Korean Institute of Metals and Materials.

• Members of the MDL lab presented their research across various sessions at the conference. 

March 2026

December 2025

• Prof. Insung Han gave a presentation, and Wonjun gave a poster presentation at the Daegu–Gyeongbuk Regional Conference of The Korean Institute of Metals and Materials.

• We visited the Daegyeong Technology Application Division of KITECH and toured facilities equipped with metal 3D printers using DED and Powder Bed Fusion technologies.

• We enjoyed a team lunch with everyone from the lab.

• Wonjun received the Best Poster Award at the Daegu–Gyeongbuk Regional Conference of the The Korean Institute of Metals and Materials. 

November 2025

• We successfully conducted our first synchrotron experiment at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory.

• Prof. Insung Han gave a presentation at the X-ray Imaging Symposium of the Korean Society of Microscopy.

• We have been selected for the 15 shifts (5 days) at the National Synchrotron Light Source II  and will conduct synchrotron experiments in 2026.

• We celebrated his birthday by expressing our appreciation to Prof. Insung Han.

October 2025

• We attended the Fall Annual Conference of the The Korean Institute of Metals and Materials.

• Prof. Insung Han delivered a presentation in the Aluminium Session at the conference.
