The city

Córdoba is the second most important city in Argentina and an important urban development in the central region of the country. Even though it is located in a vast valley, it is surrounded by the heights of several mountain range systems with a special, enjoyable and unique microclimate. The dazzling City of Córdoba opens its doors to tourism not only through its history and culture, but also by means of its impressive sites, with plenty of eye-catching scenarios. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Jesuit Block, in the city of Córdoba contains the core buildings of the capital where the National University of Córdoba (UNC) was stablished in 1613. UNC is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Latin America with more than 400 years of history and 130000 students in 2019, which give to the city a lively, active and young atmosphere.

Arrival - departure, transport

The city may be accessed by plane through Ambrosio Taravella International Airport. Also the local bus station welcomes most visitors coming from all over the country.

We recommend to arrive on Monday evening, October 21 and to leave during or after the week-end to enjoy a beautiful tourism time in Córdoba, and social activities among participants that will be suggested for Friday. The formal conference closing (academic program) will be on Thursday 24 evening.

Transportation from Córdoba Airport

  • AEROBUS: The cheapest option to go to downtown Córdoba, 126.5 pesos (~2.2 dollars), is a regular bus called "Aerobus" (ERSA company). Check this link and this other for information. To use the service, you need to have a Red Bus card which can be purchased at the airport (in a Kiosk at the second floor of the Airport) and recharged for the trip. This card can also be used to pay for tickets in urban buses in the city, since they work with the same system. Aerobus links the Airport with the New Bus Terminal and vice versa, passing through the center of the City of Córdoba, where it has multiple stops where you can get on or take off.
  • TAXI: You can take a taxi from the airport to Cordoba. It costs around 680 Pesos tops (~12 dollars). If you do so, be sure to contract for it at the airport, do not take a taxi outside.
  • REMIS: We got a reduced fare of around 400 Pesos (~7 dollars), only for conference attendants with the company "Remis Coop". You may ask for a car at the phone number +54 351 4741515. A green car will pick you up at the fist floor (departures) after 15 minutes approximately.
