Córdoba is the second most important city in Argentina and an important urban development in the central region of the country. Even though it is located in a vast valley, it is surrounded by the heights of several mountain range systems with a special, enjoyable and unique microclimate. The dazzling City of Córdoba opens its doors to tourism not only through its history and culture, but also by means of its impressive sites, with plenty of eye-catching scenarios. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Jesuit Block, in the city of Córdoba contains the core buildings of the capital where the National University of Córdoba (UNC) was stablished in 1613. UNC is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Latin America with more than 400 years of history and 130000 students in 2019, which give to the city a lively, active and young atmosphere.
The city may be accessed by plane through Ambrosio Taravella International Airport. Also the local bus station welcomes most visitors coming from all over the country.
We recommend to arrive on Monday evening, October 21 and to leave during or after the week-end to enjoy a beautiful tourism time in Córdoba, and social activities among participants that will be suggested for Friday. The formal conference closing (academic program) will be on Thursday 24 evening.
Touristic and cultural information could be found at www.cordobaturismo.gob.ar and turismo.cordoba.gob.ar
