A TAMESIDE cricket club has taken a step into a new world with its first ever ladies’ playing group.
Micklehurst may be 135-years-old but the Castle Lane side has finally embraced the growing side of the sport.
And after its first ever soft ball practice session attracted 16 people, hopes are high it will really take off.

Who are we?
Micklehurst Cricket & Social Club is a local village cricket club, run for the community by volunteers with a passion for the club, the game of cricket and the community.
In addition to our 3 senior cricket sides that play in the Greater Manchester Cricket League, we have a very active junior section with teams playing competitive matches throughout the year, as well as hosting the clubs annual ‘Summer Cricket Camp’ for children in the community.
