Non-Profit Academy

Applications for 2022-2023 will open in Fall 2022

We are the Michigan's Community Leaders Program. In the past, we have facilitated workshops, created Youtube videos, and partnered with local nonprofits to conduct personally tailored trainings and events---all with the goal of seeing nonprofits thrive and connect online, inevitably bridging the digital divide. We want to continue seeing the successes and results we have seen in the past while focusing on our impact with each nonprofit, individually.

Our initiative, the Community Leaders Program Nonprofit Academy, works to make our relationships with nonprofits more authentic, trackable, and measurable.

Quotes from the Nonprofit Academy 2020 Cohort:

  • SMSBF: “The workshops and one-to-one support were immeasurably helpful! Without the support, we would be nowhere near where we are today in terms of understanding and familiarity,” “As an organization, we are now fully up-to-speed with the G-Suite of products: Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and Drives for storage. We have more work to do with Google Ads and launching AdGrants.”

  • Spaulding for Children: “The Academy was so inviting, professional and accessible. They care about our organizations success and never make us feel foolish about any question we asked”

  • Mariners Inn: “I am always looking to be more efficient and I think work with Google helped.”

  • Binc: “Am now more proficient with ads and analytics.”

Advice for next year’s Nonprofit Academy Cohort:

  • United Way for Southeastern Michigan: “Have very clear goals for what you'd like to get out of this, and make sure to do the training!”

  • SMSBF: “Take full advantage of the offering! I cannot say enough about what Google has done to make these resources available to nonprofits. It would be foolish not to take full advantage of them. The support of the team, the hospitality at the meetings, and in particular, the help we received from our mentor was awesome.”

  • Spaulding for Children: “Step out of your comfort zone and partner with Google, you won't regret it. It's an opportunity of a life time.”
