Background

This voice work was composed with a programatic methodology created by the artist, that produced notes corresponding to colour profiles of artworks by Jack B. Yeats, and Sarah Purser. 

A conversion of colour to sound.

 & NCAD.

As the breath was expelled, the voice starts to waver and break. These imperfections were purposefully not edited out, as they echo how over time paper records begin to degrade, edges becoming frayed. 

This decision gave rise to unexpected effects when adding layers to this embodied dialogue with the archive.
