I was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I attended Jonesboro Public Schools from Kindergarten through 12th grade. When I graduated from JHS I began attending Arkansas State University and graduated in the fall of 2024. I worked at Chick-fil-A from the age of 16-23, when I quit in order to start teaching.
I fell in love with the idea of teaching my senior year of high school, when I was in a class called PALs. PALs, or Peer Assistant and Leadership, was a class that I went to two or three times a week in an elementary school classroom. Before this class, I never wanted to be a teacher, but sitting in a second-grade class, I fell in love with teaching and helping children.
I believe that education is an essential part of every individual’s life, and learning should begin at a young age and should never stop. A teacher should provide a place where students are safe, cared for, listened to, and taught something. My goal is to not only provide my students with the previously mentioned things and teach my students common core standards but also teach them how to be kind and good human beings.
I love doing very tactile art projects, for example, nail and string art. I also enjoy painting and puzzles. I collect Pokémon cards. I love going hammocking, hiking, and going on walks with my dogs.
