What I did

As the Senior Art Director for the Virtuos Xi’an team of 85 artists, I led the creation of assets based on a comprehensive list of reference images, meticulously organized in spreadsheets. Each model had to convey a built-in narrative to reflect the overall tone and feel of the final levels. Once created, the props were strategically placed, arranged, and lit to produce the final visual presentation of the level.

The levels in CROSSFIRE X were the combined effort of three Virtuos studios—Xi’an, Chengdu, and Shanghai. My role required coordinating with these large teams across different cities, ensuring that every asset aligned with the overall creative vision. The challenge was to guide everyone in the right direction so that the final product appeared cohesive as if it were crafted by a single artist. It was essential to maintain a consistent style, optimize efficiency, and meet deadlines with minimal client revisions, all while ensuring a seamless and polished final level.
