As Senior Art Director at Virtuos’ Xi’an studio, I led an 85-person team working on Crossfire X and Crossfire projects. Balancing between Unreal Engine 4 and UDK levels kept the team agile and innovative, especially as Smilegate continually raised the bar for quality in both engines. Managing this effort meant coordinating across multiple teams of art directors, leads, and junior artists to keep everyone aligned. Besides Crossfire, I was responsible for another 10 to 15 projects, constantly on the move to solve challenges and review work, ensuring each project maintained high standards.
Crossfire is one of the most popular tactical first-person shooters worldwide, blending strategic gameplay with fast-paced action. Players join one of two mercenary factions—Global Risk or Black List—battling for dominance in various modes, including classic Search & Destroy, Team Deathmatch, and unique scenario-based missions. With a vast arsenal of weapons, customizable gear, and a range of maps, Crossfire challenges players to think strategically, work as a team, and master their combat skills. The game’s intense multiplayer action has garnered a massive global community, making it a cornerstone in the competitive FPS genre.
