This is a mini icon study of the transfiguration, in the icon Christ appears to the viewer in pure white with among a dark blue backround which gets lighter the farther from Him it gets. This is an allusion to the mystery of Christ, just like the ocean gets darker the further out into it we go, the more mysterious we realize He is the more we get to know Him.
