Unit 1 introduced me to significant amounts of knowledge regarding digital literacy. It included activities like searching my own digital footprint by googling myself and learning the difference between 'the web' and internet. Reviewing terms pertaining to website basics and queries.
I began this semester with a lot of anxiety around computer science and technology literacy; I felt proficient but far from competent as far as programs like Excel go. After a stimulating semester of practice and research, I'm satisfied to say that I feel much more confident about my skills interacting with my (or any) computer. I enjoyed the research I got to do for the Emerging Technologies project as the topic I chose has a lot of personal significance to me. Upon completing the class I feel more prepared and able to get more out of Windows programs and like I can navigate them more smoothly and with a lot less 'trial and error' guessing games.
