Since enrolling at Florida International Univeristy in 2019, I have earned two bachelor degrees and two minors, participated in undergraduate research, and received recognition for dedication to leadership.
As a Florida Bright Futures Scholar and aspiring graduate student, maintaining an admirable academic record and active involvement in my school's community has been of upmost importance.
After being awarded a grant from National Save The Sea Turtle Foundation, I spent the Summer of 2022 leading a sceintific investigation on the effects of seagrass abundance and tourism on sea turtle distributions in Mexico.
This project is currently being analyzed for scientific publication and presentation at the International Sea Turtle Sympoisum in Spring 2023.
Trained as a research student in Summer 2017, I was sponsored by Cape Eleuthera Research Institute to study marine ecology, environmental sustinability, and how leadership affects local and global change.
This Novemeber, I was offered an opportunity to return to The Island School as a teaching assistant. I am excited to announce that I have accepted the offer and will be filling the position in January 2023.
During a four month cultural immersion program funded by Stanford University, I apprenticed at a rural orphanage in Ecuador to advance efforts in education, health, and sustainability of the local community.
