PLEASE NOTE:

Who can participate?

K-12 Educators who are employed in school districts, BOCES, or non-public schools in Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange counties, currently participating in the Mid-Hudson Teacher Center for the 2018-19 school year.

How will K-12 educators participate?

Educators will interact with each other and higher education faculty, primarily through the use of the Zoom Video Conferencing application. Sessions will be held after school hours, generally in the evening. They will also have the opportunity to meet individually with HE faculty between sessions to review work and receive additional support. Because of the nature of the goals identified by each participant, they will need to complete assignments and prepare materials between sessions.

K-12 Educators will be expected to do the following:

Participate in approximately 10 hours of sessions online and complete all activities during the sessions, that are designed to help them develop and pilot a learning activity.

Complete approximately 5 hours of work between sessions and report evidence of their work offline.

* Identify an area of their work where they are focusing on improving practice and develop a question to address this area.

* Design and implement a plan for collecting data on the impact of a strategy or approach which they implement with their students.

* Collect and prepare data and/or evidence to share at online meetings.

* Create a final slide presentation of their work.

What is the time-frame for the AR Initiative?

Project duration: Begins in early February and ends by early May 2019.

Workshop Meetings: Each cohort will meet for approximately 10 hours online using Zoom video conferencing as the tool.
