Mid-Hudson Teacher Center

Action Research Initiative

What is the purpose of the Mid-Hudson Teacher Center: Action Research Initiative?

The purpose of this initiative is to develop a deeper connection between what practicing teachers obtain from professional development, and its impact on instruction. Its design is based on a PLC model in which a cohort of educators, led by a technology integration facilitator, and a higher education faculty, engage in professional development tied to an action research initiative.

This professional growth experience is designed to connect higher education faculty with K-12 teachers, through a collaborative action research initiative. A cohort of K-12 educators and a technology integration facilitator, work with a higher education faculty to explore an aspect or approach of their practice through action research. They will then share their findings with a wider community of educators.
