Barry A. Tienter, 71, of Roth Road, New Bloomfield, died late Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his Centre Twp. home surrounded by his family.
Born December 7, 1948 in Annville, Lebanon County, PA, he was the son of the late Alvin A. and Almeda G. (Unger) Doutrich.
Barry graduated from the Masonic Homes Patton School for Boys in 1967. He was a patriot, and served his country in the United States Army as a military Policeman during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he became a Pennsylvania State Trooper and retired in 1995 after 25 years of service. After retirement he continued to serve the community by serving on the board of directors for Perry Human Services. He enjoyed retirement, hunting, fishing, hiking woodcarving, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Linda J. (Weibley) Tienter. 3 children, Brian W. Tienter and Justin A. Tienter and wife Jennifer (Mundis.) and Shannon L. Tienter, 6 Siblings, Eric Tienter, Colette Click, Dawn Sheaffer, Lori Medene, Dennis Berkheiser, and Lisa Longenecker; Grandchildren, Patrick, Derek, Cameron, and Cailyn Tienter, Hannah and Will Sterner, Dylan and Destiny Rich.
SERVICE DETAILS
Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday June 24, 2020 in Boyer Family Funeral Home, New Bloomfield. Rev. Anthony C. Hill will officiate. Burial, with full military and state police honors, will be in New Bloomfield Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
Covid 19 protocal is still in effect. Masks and social distancing are required as well as a maximum number of attendees (25).
