November 2023

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday this month, we reflect on all that we have to be thankful for here at MHAGC. In this issue, we both celebrate gifts of support and strength from which MHAGC has benefited, and we elevate even more opportunities for community, connection, and care.

Celebrating Successes

Late October offered two opportunities for participating in fun- and fund-raising for MHAGC. Take a look at event photos and profuse thanks for all who supported our  9th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament and Strengthtoberfest 2023.

Honoring Loved Ones

Turning toward November, we want to remind you that November 18th is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day. If you or someone you know has lost a loved one to suicide, consider joining one of the International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day events happening around the state. You might decide that a benefit walk that same day is a way to hold someone close or give back to the community. And if you are interested in supporting a survivor in your life or reading the stories of other survivors, check out these stories  on our In the News page.

Supporting Connection and Community

This month also has us considering what we can all do to support community mental health needs. Please mark two dates on your calendar for this purpose. First up is Giving Tuesday on November 28th.  MHAGC works around the clock, bringing light to some of the darkest hours. Any amount you are able to give between now and November 28th toward our Giving Tuesday campaign boosts our ability to serve those in need, including through the Upstate's 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. And if you'd like to shop for specific needs to support our annual Operation Santa Claus supply drive to provide items of need and comfort for those living with chronic mental illness or experiencing homelessness, please mark your calendars to bring or send those items in by Monday, December 4th.

Our reflections on giving and gratitude this month include you, our readers and supporters. You make what we do possible, and we are grateful for you not only in this season of thanks, but always.

All the best,
