Problem: Our Spanish-speaking sales agents lacked confidence selling Medicare due to uncertainty about complex Medicare Topics. Learning specialized or technical terms in a language they weren't fluent in also caused agents to miss subtle, critical details of the topic.
Learning Solution: This interactive computer-based training was designed to resolve knowledge gaps or confusion that Medicare Sales Agents had regarding key Medicare concepts. Our design team also went to great lengths to carefully translate the approved English content into Spanish, verifying that key terms were translated consistently throughout, while applying cultural context and Spanish idioms to ensure understanding by native Spanish speakers.
Impact: Using a pre/post assessment, we found over 90% of survey respondents showed learning gains. Also, 100% indicated they would use the translated resources and job aids provided in the course going forward to increase their confidence and competency with selling Medicare.
My Role: I led a team of five bi-lingual designers in the translation and implementation of this project.
