Educators understand and use data to drive their instruction and support students in achieving their learning goals. Educators:
7a: Provide alternative ways for students to demonstrate competency and reflect on their learning using technology.
7b: Use technology to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessments that accommodate learner needs, provide timely feedback to students and inform instruction.
7c: Use assessment data to guide progress and communicate with students, parents and education stakeholders to build student self-direction.
NASA PR Department: "The public doesn't think NASA Space Shuttle Landing sites bring benefit to the areas they are located in. We need to show them the new sites we are selecting. What benefits do they offer? Why are these locations the next best sites?"
Create a story map previewing the various space shuttle landing sites. Consider what a shuttle landing site needs - away from large cities, large strips of land, and consistent weather. How do these requirements allow for possible benefits to nature and nearby areas? Identify these sites and their locations. Briefly describe the ways they benefit the areas where they are located. Use imagery, maps, and descriptions to get your point across.
