Me at the excursion day of LATIN 2026 at Lagoa da Conceição
Currently, and potentially for the rest of my life, I am a mathematician who has fallen in love for discrete algorithms. So far, I spend most of my research on questions related to Online Algorithms (see my Research page for some overview).
As I believe that theoretical computer science or math are some of the most beautiful things in life where you can spend time in, I also used to spend a decent amount of time to convince others that those topics are great (see my Teaching or Thesis page for some details).
So if you are interested (or are open to become interested) in combinatorial algorithms or related questions, just hit me up!
Since July 2026, I am working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Algorithms Group at Syddansk Universitet (SDU), hosted by Lars Rohwedder.
Before, I was a research and teaching assistant in the Group for Theoretical Computer Science at RWTH Aachen from 2021 to 2026. I received my PhD in March 2026 with a thesis about online computation, advised by Peter Rossmanith .
August 2026: The paper "Improved Results for Knapsack with Removal" got accepted for MFCS 2026, a work together with Kübra Güven from RWTH Aachen and Valentin Hächler, Dennis Komm, and Richard Královič from ETH Zürich
July 2026: I have attended a Research Workshop in Austria, invited by Dennis Komm from the Algorithms and Didactics Group at ETH Zürich. It was a pleasure meeting some of my favourite colleagues there!
July 2026: I started as a researcher in the Algorithms Group at SDU in Odense, Denmark. I am really excited to see how working and living is in a new country!
May 2026: I have attended a Workshop organized by the RTG UnRAVeL at RWTH Aachen, Germany, and presented a poster on Algorithms with Estimates
May 2026: I attended at the 2026 Fun with Algorithms on Porquerolles, France, together with my student Julius Stannat, where our paper "Fog of War Chess" got accepted
April 2026: I attended at Latin 2026 in Florianopolis, Brazil, to present the paper "Graph Exploration with Edge Weight Estimates", a work together with Ralf Klasing and Emile Naquin from LaBRI Bordeaux
March 2026: I have successfully defended my PhD Thesis! I would like to thank all the people again that accompanied me on this journey!
March 2026: The Paper "Stealing from the Dragon's Hoard: Online Unbounded Knapsack with Removal"was accepted for STACS 2026 , a work together with Moritz Stocker from ETH Zürich
