Muhamad comes Tuesday mornings to move the dumpsters down the driveway and back into the trash room. Muhamad is only available early Tuesday mornings so if they're not ready someone else will need to move the dumpster(s) back into the building as soon as they are emptied. Use the electric pallet jack parked on the east side of the garage. Practice before trying to use it to move a dumpster. The forward and reverse throttles are surprising sensitive.

According to Muhamad, the trash dumpster is especially heavy, so you have to be careful since you will be backing it down the ramp. You may want to move at an angle.

To move a dumpster with the pallet jack, you must approach the dumpster from the side in the center at a 90 degree angle, having first lowered the forks so you can slide them under the dumpster. Once the forks are positioned, lift the forks so all dumpster wheels are off the ground. Then back the dumspter down the ramp.

Once the last dumpster is in the garage, lower the forks and the pull the jack out. Return the jack to its storage location on the east side of P1.

You won't use the pallet jack to move the dumpsters into the trash room. You'll push and pull them to get them into the room and to the right position.

If you are returning a recycle dumpster to the trash room, open the dumpster doors and let them flop against the side of the dumpster. The trash dumpster should be returned with the doors closed on top.

The dumpster on the west wall should have its doors behind it, against the wall. The dumpster in the center should have its doors hanging down into the space between it and the west wall dumpster. There should be adequate space between the dumpsters to allow a person to get between them to place their recycle where they want it.
