On imaging patients may have abnormal signal of the corpus striatum, and the thalami in infants. They may develop white matter cavitation. Cerebral dysgenesis with callosal dysgenesis, subcortical heterotopias, absent medullary pyramids, ectopic olivary nuclei, dysplasia of the cerebellar dentate nuclei, and polymicrogyria may also be seen
