Menkes disease is also known as Trichopoliodystrophy.
On imaging patients have increased T2/FLAIR signal of the basal ganglia early that progresses to atrophy. Patients may develop secondary subdurals due to the atrophy. Patients may have increased T1 and decreased T2 signal of the cerebral cortex. There is elongation and tortuosity of the cerebral arteries.
