Welcome to the Teaching EFL Portfolio
Here you will find the Portfolio of the subject Aprenentatge i Ensenyament de Llengües Estrangeres (Anglès), part of the Master's degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training and Language Teaching at the University of Lleida (UdL).
Learning Objectives of the subject:
The main aim is to learn how to teach foreign languages in a more effective way and more specifically, how to develop learners' communicative competences in English.
The specific objectives, based on the aim of the subject are:
To acquire a general overview of the teaching methodologies of foreign languages.
To understand the classroom as a learning community as a social space it is.
To know what oral and written communicative and linguistic competencies are, and to display and assess them in a learning unit.
A portfolio in education is a tool that can help both students and teachers show the work done on a specific subject. It is a compilation of the different projects and activities that have been carried out in a period of time. It shows the level of performance of the author and the reflections on the learning and teaching processes. According to Yancey (1996), cited in Cassany (2006), a portfolio can be defined as a collection of selected works that shows progress in learning. It is a communicative activity, as it shares the author's reflection on the whole process.
The present portfolio consists of 5 activities. There will be a first version and a revised version for some of them, based on the feedback of instructors:
