DEVELOPING A CREATIVE PROPOSAL FOR EFL TEACHING: DISCOVERING AND COMPARING GREEK AND NORSE MYTHOLOGY THROUGH POETRY, NARRATIVE AND AUDIO-VISUALS
The linguistic component that is inherent in literature has been explored as a tool for pedagogical purposes, and instructors have tried to include literature in their language lesson plans in the last decades. One of the contexts in which the introduction of literature has been considered is English as a Foreign Language (EFL) lessons.
The present paper includes a creative proposal that aims to introduce literature in the EFL classroom by presenting students with the topic of mythology. By using genuine literature fragments, adapted texts and audio-visuals, learners will get to know and be able to compare two mythological traditions, the Greek and the Nordic. In the end, students will be asked to produce their own myths.

Literature has been proven to be a great source of language resources, and the connection that can be developed with the learner fosters the development of personal skills, which can be later applied in the process of understanding of the world.
