HOW TO AUDITION:
Familiarize yourself with The Old Man and The Old Moon… this includes its story, its characters, etc.
If you would like to read a copy of the script, reach out to Ms. Geckle
Keep reading for expectations for these auditions!
INDIVIDUAL AUDITIONS August 26th 3:30-5:30pm (we will extend the time if need be).
You will need to sign up for an audition time! Please DO NOT move other people’s times! Please DO NOT leave spaces in between audition slots. (Plan to arrive for your audition 15 minutes early in case we are running ahead of schedule).
For your individual audition will need to prepare:
1-2 minute monologue appropriate for the style of the show
there are monologue resources available on the Auditions page
CALL BACKS August 27th 4:00-5:30pm
There is a possibility you will be needed for callbacks on August 27th
Callbacks would require you to read some scenes from the script and might require some singing as well.
If you receive a callback, you will receive materials to prepare ahead of time
Not everyone who auditions will receive a callback, but you need to make sure you are available to attend!
Prepare your Audition Materials. This should include:
AUDITION FORM AND HEADSHOT
adution form available at the link below
YOU MUST BRING A HEADSHOT WITH YOU! Your headshot MUST be printed on and 8x10 (or 8.5x11 sheet of paper)
A headshot needs to be a photo that clearly shows your face. Please try to avoid selfies or other social media style photos.
REQUIRED: A 1 minute monologue of your choosing (it can be from the show, but does not have to be) (there are monologue resources available on this site or you can ask Ms. Geckle for help)
OPTIONAL: a 1 minute cut of a FOLK song... you may choose to sing this and play an instrument (piano provided... any other instrument you need to bring with you), sing acapela, or sing with a track.
On the day of your audition
arrive EARLY to the hallway outside of room 6 & 7... there will be stage managers available to help direct you (your audition will take place on the stage)
Make sure you prepare a "slate"
ex: "Hello, my name is Katie Geckle. I will be auditioning for The Old Man and The Old Moon with a monologue from William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
After your audition we may ask questions or give some direction and ask to see more. OR. You may receive a callback and we will ask to see more then.
