Dr. Matthew X. Joseph

Host: Dr. Matthew X. Joseph is currently the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in Leicester Public Schools. He has been a school and district leader in many capacities in public education over his 25 years in the field. Experiences such as the Director of Digital Learning and Innovation, elementary school principal, classroom teacher, and district professional development specialist. These experiences have provided Matt incredible insights on how to best support teaching and learning and led to nationally published articles and opportunities to speak at multiple state and national events. His master's degree is in special education and his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Boston College. He is the author of Power of Us: Creating Collaborative Schools and co-author of Modern Mentoring, Reimagining Mentorship in Education.

Ariel Adrian

Ariel Adrian is a Reading Teacher on Long Island, New York. Over her years of experience, she has taught elementary, middle, and high school students. Her greatest joy in teaching is inspiring her students to develop confidence to be habitual readers, global citizens, and lifelong learners. Ariel is a doctoral student in the Ed.D. Literacy program at Hofstra University, with a research interest in self-efficacy and reading methodologies. Through presenting and attending local and national conferences, participating in #Read2Lead book studies, and being active through Twitter, she is passionate about cultivating professional learning communities, sharing best practices and experiences with like-minded educators. Ariel is an attuned Reiki Practitioner, passionate that mindfulness is the key to success, a belief that she lives out through her interests in reading, writing, yoga, meditation, live music, and traveling.

Yaritza Villalba

Yaritza Villalba has eleven years of experience in education. She started her career teaching Social Studies to high school students in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York. Throughout the years she has developed numerous curriculum materials and conducted a variety of professional developments for educators throughout the Tri-State area. She is currently a lead teacher of an alternative high school in Bedford Stuyvesant, teaching over -aged and under- credited students history through a critical lens. She is also currently conducting a series of initiatives to assist Black and Brown families in her neighborhood. Her overall mission, in education, is to provide teachers and students with an array of strategies and materials to assist them in the educational process.

Dennis Griffin Jr.

Dennis Griffin Jr. serves as the Principal of Brown Deer Elementary School in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. He has eight years of experience as a middle school educator and is entering his fifth year as an administrator. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies in Educational Leadership at Cardinal Stritch University. His passion to be an agent of change in education for ALL students is the driving force behind his leadership. Dennis seeks to build collaborative networks that will learn from one another to support adult and student learning. Realizing that working in isolation will not achieve the results our students deserve has afforded Dennis the opportunity to participate in several organizations, and serve on several educational boards and foundations. Dennis provides professional development and researches topics that include: leadership, equity, relationships, student outcomes, and the change process. Dennis believes ALL students will be successful in school when they develop relationships with educators that value their gifts, cultures, and individuality.

Melisa Hayes

Melisa Hayes is currently a 2nd grade teacher and has a bachelors & masters degree in education. This will be her 24th year in education. Melisa is a Wakelet, Flipgrid, & Night Zookeeper ambassador & an Apple Distinguished Educator. She is a part of Our Global Classroom which is a family of educators around the globe who always puts our kids first & strives to teach the SDG’s and bring a universal call to action to better our world! She is also a part of 4 o'clock Faculty which is my family of educators who discuss every aspect of education & how we can better ourselves for our kids! Melisa is passionate about inclusion & teaching the whole child! I love to spend time with my family: We love walking our dog, board games, traveling, and making memories, I also love being active: walk, run, bike with my #TheWalkingEd family who motivate and inspire me to stay healthy both on the inside and out.

Carrie Baughcum

Carrie Baughcum (she/her/hers) is a mother, wife, mismatch sock wearer, a self described inspiration junkie, learning enthusiast, and most of all a passionate believer that all children can learn, we just need to find out how. As a special education teacher of 20+ years, she integrates technology, creative thinking, a fearless attitude, the power of gamification and endless doodles into her classroom. She strives everyday to enhance her students' learning while empowering them to achieve things they never knew they could do or be a part of. She is also the mother to two children, 13 and 14 years old. At home she encourages her children to explore, learn and try anything they their imagination can think up. Together, they create and get involved in activities and experiences with exploration, creativity, problem solving and making. Craig Martin

Craig Martin is an award-winning teacher and principal, and frequent speaker on leadership and culturally responsive frameworks. Since June 2019, he has served as the Executive Director of Bridge Boston Charter School in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood.

Craig was named the 2018 National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and 2018 Elementary Principal of the Year by the Massachusetts School Administrators Association. In 2009, Boston Public Schools awarded Craig the Educator of the Year award.

Craig is a proud member of the 2012 class of ASCD Emerging Leaders. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts affiliate of ASCD.

Craig earned his Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Dillard University in his native New Orleans, Louisiana, and his Master of Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass.

Jacquelyn Fabian

Jacquelyn has been an educator for 13 years in both the ELA and Social Studies classroom. She has led several professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators at both the local and national level on ABAR/culturally responsive teaching and instructional technology's role in promoting student voice. After recently obtaining National Board Certification, Jacquelyn is looking forward to starting a cohort in her district and advocating for teacher voice at the state level. She is also a certified teacher evaluator (Danielson model) and is passionate about mentoring new and veteran educators to be their best selves in the classroom. In her free time, she loves exploring all Chicago has to offer and spending time with her 11 year old cockapoo, Romeo.

Sari Goldberg McKeown

Sari Goldberg McKeown is a lifelong learner. She believes education is about who we teach, not just about what we teach. Sari is passionate about culture, relationships, and learning from each other. She believes in the power of being a connected educator. As educators, we are better together! Sari has served as an educator in many K-12 roles for over fifteen years, including classroom teacher, literacy specialist, mentor, supervisor, and coordinator. Currently, Sari serves as a central office administrator and remote learning principal on Long Island, New York.

Sari is the co-founder and co-moderator of the #Read2Lead twitter chat and voxer group and co-founder of #UnitedWeLearn. She is also honored to be a part of the EdCamp Long Island planning team. Sari finds joy in helping to build capacity in educators of tomorrow by facilitating sessions for Binghamton University Future Educators, College of St. Rose Future Leaders, and BOCES Aspiring Administrators.

Sari is a graduate of New York University, with two graduate degrees from Hofstra and another from the College of St. Rose. She holds certifications in many educational areas, from Early Childhood and Special Education to School District Leadership. Currently, Sari is a doctoral student in the Ed.D. Educational Administration and Supervision program at St. John’s University.

Jason Love

Jason is currently starting his first year at Brown Deer Elementary as an assistant principal. He has been an assistant principal for the past three years, most recently at Milwaukee Academy of Science. Before becoming an administrator, Jason was a classroom teacher. Jason earned his Bachelor's degree and Teaching Certification at UW-Milwaukee Masters and his Administrators License at Cardinal Stritch.

Jason believes "A leader is one who, with the assistance of others, creates a vision and the techniques to achieve it based on the needs of the people; it is the process of influence, motivation and communication to accomplish the goal of self-efficiency of all who follow".

His most recent accolades include 2019 Recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award presented at The Black Educator's Ball by A-LEGO
