When we steps, we are referring to generalized steps that will in turn hopefully decrease a person's depression. Again depression looks different for everyone, so even our generalized steps may not apply to you or someone you know. If these steps do not work for you do not feel that you are wrong or different from the rest. Talk to your mental health professional or us and they/we will try and find what would work best for you.
The first step we recommend is identification. Indentifying that you may have depression may seem very easy, but in most cases this is the hardest part. When you identify that you have depession, it now means you are on track to go ahead and try to decrease the effects of it. There is a variety of timelines for this. Sometimes it takes a week, month, or even can take years. The main thing we want to stress is don't wait too long, becasue out of no where it can have consequencal impacts on your daily life.
Talking is a part of our daily life routine. Many times you can talk about random things openly; however, such a serious topic as depression can be hard to talk about. This hopefully changes as we attempt to remove the stigma around mental health. Talking to your family hopefully will be a productive conversation. They should get you in touch with a mental health professional or a therapist. If this does not occur then reach out to us or another group that's main goal is bringing attention to mental health and they should get you to the resources that you would need.
This is the hardest one to describe considering it looks different for everyone. You can treat it in a variety of ways and your health professional should help you on your journey. In our website we list activities that should help, but if you feel otherwise there is also medication. These are hard considering they are similar to the activities. What works for someone may not work for you. Take them in regulation and also make sure to have a conversation with your health professional about if it would fit in your lifestyle. Also do your own research to make sure that the medication works for you. With any questions or reasearch reach out to CVS or your health professional.
