The syllabi presented here reflect two complementary strands of my teaching practice. One focuses on experiential, field-based learning that integrates language instruction with cultural engagement and place-based exploration. The other centers on structured language teaching, emphasizing systematic development of linguistic skills and communicative competence across proficiency levels.
Syllabus A: Experiential and Field-Based Syllabus
Syllabus A represents an experiential, field-based approach to Chinese language teaching. The course integrates cultural narratives, site-based learning, and communicative tasks, guiding students to engage with language through real-world contexts, movement, and reflection. Language structures, vocabulary, and speaking tasks are embedded within cultural exploration and experiential activities.
Syllabus B focuses on structured language instruction, emphasizing systematic development of speaking, listening, reading, and grammatical competence. The course is designed with clear skill progression, task sequencing, and assessment alignment, supporting learners’ communicative accuracy and fluency in academic and everyday contexts.
