ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m Mengyi Wang, a Teaching Associate in the Chinese Language Program at Cornell University. I’m passionate about immersive, scenario-based Chinese teaching and the integration of AI in language learning. I truly enjoy learning languages myself. Every new language opens a new way of seeing the world and understanding people. 

I’m a teacher, learner, and storyteller who believes that language is more than words, it’s a bridge between people. Teaching Chinese has shown me how laughter, curiosity, and empathy can turn a classroom into a space of genuine connection.

Over time, I’ve come to see teaching as a quiet dialogue between growth and reflection. My students remind me every day that learning flows both ways: they learn Chinese from me, and I learn sincerity, patience, and courage from them. I’ve learned to stay kind without losing boundaries, to remain curious. Whether it’s designing a lesson, crafting a story, or finding light in an ordinary morning, I remind myself that sincerity, even when misunderstood, still has the power to illuminate.
